Soft Top cover and Tonneau BJ8

Hopefully someone can help me. I am fitting a new soft top cover and tonneau to my BJ8 but have run into a few snags. My car does not have the two tennax pegs fitted to the rear shroud between the boot hinges. The hood cover I originally had was pop fastened round the rear. Does anyone have the dimensions for positioning the tennax pegs? and or a photo with dimensions. The fabric hood cover I have bought also has a strap attached to the interior side inner surface approximately opposite to the outer tennax peg on the chrome outer piece. Does this attach to the rear quarter pannel? and if so is it another tennax or a press stud?
With the tonneau cover, it obviously attaches to the lift the dot pegs on the dash and two tennax pegs behind the doors on the chrome finnisher and also to the two tennax pegs on the rear shroud. Are there any other fastenings? This probably sounds stupid but does it fit over the hood cover?Bizarrely although my car has none of the other fastenings it does have the lift the dot pegs for the tonneau behind the front seats.

Any help would be very gratefully received.

ABH,
My BJ8 is a 64 so yours could be different. My two rear tennax studs are spaced 31 13/16" apart. This means that each stud will be approximately 3" outside the centerline of the hinges. Also measure 1 5/8" down from the upper brake in the rear shroud where the chrome sourround is located. This is a curved surface so you must measure paralled to the centerline of the car. As a check I also stretched some tape between the studs and measured at the center of the trunk lid the centerline of the studs is 3 3/8" to the top lip of the trunk opening in the shroud. The strap in the tonneau cover where it covers the top at each rear side panel should have a tennax peg located in the rear side panel where the side panel wraps around to the door opening. I know this sound confusing but give it a try and let us know if you need anything else. I would include a picture but I have not had any luck in doing that. Have a good day!

John

The tonneau cover does not fit over the soft top cover. You use one or the other. My measurements agree with John's.

Thanks John and shorn. Exactly the information I needed. Job now done -many thanks.
I wish I had found this forum 3 years ago when I started my rebuild. Using the previous postings on the forum I have just replaced the top on my BJ8 and am very pleased with the result - but hope I never have to do another one!
Thanks again, Andy
