I probably shouldn't admit to being this dumb, but:
I ALWAYS take my watch off when I work on most anything. Yesterday I think I blew a head gasket on my TR3. I got busy tearing her down and left my watch on, and the battery's positivce cable connected (pos ground). Naturally my watch band touched the solenoid terminal and literally welded the hasp closed. That part of the band got red hot and instantly blistered my left wrist. When I tried to remove the band, I blistered my right thumb. After "quenching" in the sink, I had to pry the hasp open with a screw driver. Remarkably, the Seiko is working fine.
