So, Where's the Most Unusual Place You've...

I LOVE those pictures of your car Bret!

Thanks JB, I think I caught PAGAN's "inter" charm. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

That's cool tony, I bet you got lots of comments about having Alabama tags. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Probably here:

Also felt very out of place driving through a dust storm in the Mojave Desert in a '65 B with the top down.

Then there was the time as a teen that a buddy and I were driving through South Central LA very late at night in the B with the top down. The fuel pump was known to quit now and then as well. That wasn't just unusual, it was stupid!

Janel = what's the question...when I click on the link you gave to my web site, I get a photo of my car....its not a 'url' - ita an 'img'

Back to the original question: my '56 MGA went from the church to the reception hotel after my son's wedding with the driver in a tux and and the passenger in her wedding dress--with the top off, of course. Made for some startled looks and a few waves and honks from other drivers (we were following in my wife's car). Nothing like a young women in wedding dress to "dress up" even a beautiful MGA! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

hmmmm... nothing strange about the places i've taken my B .... yet... I guess I'm boring that way or something... been working on the "reliability" factor since I've acquired it... I think I'm just about there now. itching to go on one of them MG drives this year! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

One evening, years and years ago, while probably doing something I shouldn't have at a place I shouldn't have been at and all the while I probably knew better, I somehow wound up puttering my derelict 'B around the pedestrian sidewalks of the University of Albany (NY) campus.

I swear I don't know how I got from car roads to pedestrian sidewalks, but I certainly remember the collective groan from the spectators that gathered to watch me try and ease that thing off a curb to get back onto a road. I'm amazed I didn't get arrested.

Steve_S: would that be the SoCal Night Owl Poker Ralley? or something else?

I hope that was the MGA's top that they took off... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

We used our MGB as our wedding getaway car after the reception. Didn't hurt that my wife gave it to me as a wedding present. One of the groomsmen had grown up with his dad's RB MGB, so he was entrusted with moving the car from the parking lot to the departure area. It was lavish with decorations.
We've not taken it too many unusual places. The furthest it's been from home was to go rafting on the Nantahala River in Bryson City, NC.
We have club members who have taken their B to Pike's Peak and Death Valley, maybe on the same trip.

Made a trip from Tampa to Cleve-land and back a decade or so ago.

Well, ~I~ thought the place was unusual. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Rob, the poker run is a mini club event. The MG club event will be early March from the west valley to the Regan Library via a scenic route, which is yet to be determined. It would be a good shakedown since we will always be in or near the city but still on many twisty backroads. Also my house is half way between you and the event so if you have a problem we can sort it out.

Steve_S: sweet! I'll keep me eyes pealed for the announcement... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Steve have they made an annoucement on the dates yet. I'm going to be back in LA from the 10th to the 19th wouldnt mind meeting up with some other mg's.
