I'm bored. No bits to polish, no car stuff to work on, all the kinks (as of yesterday!) are worked out and both Binabox and Emma are running perfectly.

Last issue to add to the list of teething pains with Binabox was a split gaiter (new) and we switched that out Monday evening.

So far...
No gauges work (did get the tach working, no speedo or gas gauge though)
Brakes locked up (fixed)
Brake line leak (fixed)
Fuel leak, bad sending unit (fixed)
Another fuel leak (fixed)
Blew an oil line in the bonnet, new braided line (fixed)
Slow leak in tire (fixed)
ummm...
split gaiter (fixed)

We need a new project.

A RUMF???
*thud*

Oh shoot, that reminds me. Someone wanted me to contact the guy, see if he'd hold it til they could arrange a shipper.

By the way Jim, there's 2 houses 'for sale by owner' out in the neighborhood of Briar Lake. One is in Lakefield Place, just down from there, on the lake. It's Sarah's friend Dana's parents. Another is in Gedern Village, right off the interstate on Quarry Road, if you'd like me to go by and snap a few pics and get info.

Can you send Chuck over? I need the crossmember pads replaced.
I'll pay postage (fedex even) there and back. Free beer included /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Amberbock?
I can't send him until the 26th. Have a list of things for him to do here before we leave for Gatlinburg on Sunday. IF I can keep him OUT of the shop!

Well, I need to be getting things together for my Gatlinburg run. I think I have the car in shape, but I haven't decided what spares/tools to take, and... also what cleaning supplies (if any). I usually let the Midget wear her road grime at the shows. Most people don't understand why, but a few do.

That sounds interesting to me as well Janel.
How hard is it to get a Green Card down your way? 21 years Experience in the Chemical industry. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Whatcha got there?

Ya.. And it is actually a "Rumph" It isn't spelt Triumf. ~sheeesh~

RUMF.
My nickname, my spelling.

Heck, anyone can get a green card in this country. And Monsanto is 15 minutes away.

((there goes the neighborhood...a Canny American AND a RUMF owner))

TJ, you driving your Midget? Brian is still apprehensive about driving his the 500 miles to G'burg. He just hasn't owned it/driven it long enough to have faith in it I suppose. He talked about towing it or taking the Yukon.

Hehe, I was concerned before when NONE of the gauges worked. Would have been nice to have at least ONE of the 3 in working order. I figure we'll just fill up every couple hours.

Tach works, if it's accurate. Now how do I figure the speed by the tach? It's something per 1000RPMs I know, but it's dif for overdrive and regular drive.

And an Oakland A's fan to boot. That would be three things going for me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Got Mr. Bush's number? I'll call for my Green Card this afternoon. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Just put a little GPS in the car for the trip - keep you from getting lost & also tell you how fast you're going!

Yep, Driving the midget. I've made a bunch of modifications to it since last summer, so it is a bit of a gamble... but that's all part of the fun! When my midget was first back on the road I drove it to Dayton OH and back in a day (400 miles). No real problems. When I was I the show I discovered that I hadn't tighten one rear shock, and I lost a bolt out of my drive shaft (maybe I forgot to put it in). Anyway, they were easy fixes. He should drive the Midget and work out any problems along the way. Just give it a once over to might sure everything is tight and properly lubricated ... and go. Heck the head on the midget is weeping a little more coolant than I like, but I'm forging on.

I agree, I think he'd regret not having the Midget down there once we get to G'burg.

Sounds like a hot hot ride to me without A/C.

Tow it, you will both enjoy the trip much more.

What do you mean A/C? 55-70 mph and things stay comfortable. It's not the destination, it's the journey. Maybe I feel differently when I'm older, but right now I enjoy the "rustic aspect" of the car.

Amen brother. The hotter the better.

And I don't need no stinkin' GPS (besides, don't own one!) I don't have a GPS. I've never gotten lost in my life by my own doings. Come to think of it, the ONLY times I've been lost or taken wrong turns in my LIFE was a result of a man.
/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

And as far as speed, I'll go slower than the car in front of me (on occasion) and faster than the car behind me (and the cops)

I just hope Ken doesn't 'lead.' It took us from 7:30am to 10:30pm to get to Grand Rapids last summer and we went through every little town in Indiana on the way. I'm all for scenic, but GOOD GRIEF!!! Of course there were more than a few wrong turns along the way too!

I'm debating on which route to take and how much interstate to use. I'm thinking I may go mostly 2-lane on the way there and mostly interstate on the way back (depending on how the drive down goes).

I hafta agree. 2-60 AC is all I've ever needed to stay comfortable in any car I've driven. Of course, there was that 10yr period where I drove a mini-truck with AC. In that case, the AC was very handy for stop and go city traffic. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
