Booked a short escape for the family to Florida in Feburary, to escape the New England winter for a couple of days.

Went to book a rental car from Hertz.

For a little more than the price of a boring 4-door, you can rent a new Ford Mustang.

For a little more more than the price of a Ford Mustang, you can rent a Ford Mustang Convertable

For a little more more than the price of a Ford Mustang Convertable, you can rent a Ford Mustang Shelby GTH Convertable.

The curse of incrementalism!

Rob.

P.S.

Q. What did the snail say when it hitched a ride on the back of a tourtoise?

A. "Weeeeeee"

I don't know how big the "family" is, or how much you plan to carry... but be forewarned, it's a little easier to put stuff in my Miata's trunk than it is the trunk of my Aunt's Mustang Convertible. It'll hold more, but you have to figure out how to get it in the trunk!

How big's the family? Don't cramp yourselves on a vacation to Fla. (Get a bigger convertible if you want the wind in your hair!) The family will be happier!!! Unless of course the Mustang is a priority!

Even better:

Mustang for you, something else practical for them.

Incrementalism taken to its logical conclusion?

Just the four of us, and we're pretty good at traveling light. Anyway there are always bungee cords - for the luggage, not the kids!

One of my favorite family road trips was me, my mom, and my dad in a Mustang Coupe from northeast Ohio down to Savannah.
