So what did everyone get?

My non-mechanically inclined son-in-law who calls AAA when he has a flat & who's tool box consists of a hammer, straight & phillips screwdrivers & a pair of pliers gave me a Drill Doctor 750X - think my daughter helped pick it out!

Not a bad call, not bad at all.

I got socks, PJ's, a rebuilt tranny upgrade and
the green light to go forward with the car engine
rebuild. Wow, am I spoiled or what? My wife knows
that I'm going stir crazy till the TR is back on the
road.
Now to figure how to pay for it, that's all.

Hey 2 !!

How to pay for it?

That's the easy part. Do like I did. Work 70 hour weeks
for two years. Finding the time to make the restoration
is another matter completely. je,je,je,je

But heck- it only took me five months to install the
entire car rewire.

Baz,
Enjoy Wales. Sing a chorus of Aberystwyth for me.

I got DVDs of Office Space, Wild Hogs (I love Madrid, NM), and St. Elsewhere Season 1, the book "Crosley", the board game Route 66, clothing, and had the gift of family with my Mom home from her assisted living facility coming for the day, all three kids here, and my 2 year old granddaughter keeping us entertained as well. We also had a lovely woman from church join us for brunch. She is 79, still teaches aerobic dance classes, and had composed a fantastic anthem that our chancel choir had performed at the 11 PM Christmas Eve Service. Then one of our youngest son's best friends from elementary through high school came over for the 15th straight year. He says that no Jewish boy ever enjoyed Christmas more than he does.

It was a beautiful day.

Interesting reading.

I got a giant "thank you" and a couple good hugs from a family I made Christmas dinner for. They aren't able to have one of their own, so I always make the dinner as a "gift".

Turkey, sausage dressing, acorn squash with creamed spinach, ginger peaches, cornsticks, red onion and orange slices, mince pie with brandy sauce, chocolate date cake with custard. Burp!

Didn't get any plastic, wood, glass, metal, stone, fabric, or paper stuff.

I hope to be picking up a 2004 TVR Tamora from a repair shop in Aberystwyth for a friend of mine.....watch this space for a youtube of 350 HP of twisty road debauchery. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif
I hope it's fixed. I pray it's fixed.

Let's see, I got a Williams-Sonoma hot chocolate kit, with shaved chocolate and hand-crafted marshmallows (very good, my wife's parents got her one last year). The wife says we have to share it, though :G. I got a new dress shirt, a heavy flannel shirt for wearing around the house, a collapsible table for our camper, a remote-controlled helicopter, a lighted folding screwdriver set, a toaster oven for the camper, and some toys for the cats. The two big things we got for ourselves were an LCD television and a new car, a 2008 Honda CR-V. Still waiting on the new ride; the salesman said it was supposed to arrive last Friday or Saturday, but the fog lights needed to be installed. Hoping they call today to say we can pick it up, but if they had a bunch of repairs today we might be waiting a little longer.

Tickets to see Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood at Madison Square Garden!

Wild Hogs (I love Madrid, NM), /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/iagree.gif I drive from my home to Madrid frequently. I generally have a sandwich at the Mineshaft and coffee at Java Junction. Round trip is a little over an hour. Agatha (my Healey) loves the turns as does her caregiver. Not a whole lot of folk knew about Madrid prior to Wild Hogs.

New top 4 drawer box for my roll around, a set of rachet open end/closed end wrenches, one of those big big things with all the bits and drill and such in it, a bottle of Jonney Walker Black.

Was a great Christmas for all here.

Did not get any clothes (a first). Lots of tools I needed: new chain saw, jig saw with lazer, new Hitachi electric screw driver, coffee maker that grinds beans, and the best, both the kids for Christmas dinner (standing rib roast, etc).
I will get the old digital camera since the misses got a new one. Oh, the new Garth Brooks album-DVD set. A Craftsman digital meter rounds out the main items. I was very happy this year. Will be able to finish the quilting frame for a good friend this weekend (4 days off).

After the wife opened her new 17" wireless lap top with all the goodies and they came and installed a new high speed wireless setup in the house, plus some perfume and other nice ladies things, Santa gave me my gift. THE BILL!

Over by the beach Russ. Outside the little tobacco town of Loris. About 25 miles west of Myrtle Beach. Hap Waldrops shop is in Greenville, if I remember correctly. And, one of the best wire wheel shops on the east coast is not very far away in NC. Hendrix Wire Wheel. Alan and Jerry are good people!
