So TODAY I didn't drive the crazy car...

a coworker did! As I was cruising the parking lot looking for a spot to park my Jaguar I spotted an Oliver tractor.

Apparently his truck broke down and the tractor was the only thing he had to drive the 50 miles to work. Took him an hour and 40 minutes and it was only 45° F this morning!

I just had to park next to it and snap a few pictures. Okay you can start the jokes about Iowa now...

Very Interesting Pictures.

In NYC when we have a problem we prefer bicycles.

I love the fact he was still able to do it.

/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif I would say that's good Yankee logic in Iowa.

tullamore, very dedicated employee!, should easily win "best employee of the year" award, perhaps an all expense paid holiday in hawaii? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

No sick days left huh.

Whatever you do, DON'T lend him your riding mower! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hammer.gif

I am surprised a tractor could go that far on a tank of gas.

There was a movie a few years ago about a guy who drove his riding mower from Iowa to Wisconsin. "The Straight Story" An older man drove 240 miles on his riding mower to visit his brother. Not a bad movie.

roofman, gas? what gas?, the reason i thought he should also be given "an all expense paid holiday in Hawaii" is cuz his wife got behind that tractor in high heals and pushed all the way! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

I gotta say, that is dedication. I'm not sure that I would even be alive at 45 degrees.

We Triumph people can sympathize with anybody that drives a vehicle with a tractor motor.

That's awesome... What a great story...

And that movie "The Straight Story"? I saw it and loved it! I thought it was very well done, and it was based on a true story is my understanding

That guy drove his tractor farther than Dale had driven Amos.

Steve,

Is that what they call an "Iowan Sportscar"?
As to the movie with the riding mower - was that
Art Carney who starred in it?I saw it,but that was
a few years ago.

No it stared Richard Farnsworth, and yes it was a true story. He really drove his lawn tractor at 73 years old the 240 miles over six weeks to visit his sick brother in 1994
