I just ordered a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1. I'm far from being a photo buff. I've read reviews on this camera and the camera sites are very critical on this camera for its "noise" levels in still pics above ISO200. However, the user reviews were the same as the user reviews for comparable Canon and Nikon cameras with comparable sampling sizes. I looked at one of my friends picture collection taken with the TZ1 and found them to be equal to or better than the Sony. It's an all round upgrade for me.
I figure the 10x Optical zoom (12.5x in the resolutions I normally shoot) will come in handy. I know on several occasions I found 3x just wasn't enough with my old cameras.
