You have OD Stewart? I don't think 5xxx is anywhere near 95mph on Emma. I wasn't exactly blowing everyone off the interstate. I'm guessing closer to 80-85 max. I suppose a friendly state trooper would be happy to tell me...
Here's a thought Janel,
Why didn't you repair or replace the Speedo. while the car was laid up? What else did you have to do?

well JB my car has no OD... I'm not sure what's 90 though. I do know that in 4th gear both needles (tach and speedo) are pointing in the same direction. Around 4000 I think I'm doing somewhere in the neighborhood of 70 - 80... I don't go that fast very often so it's hard to remember.
I was wrong. 90mph is right around 5k and 95mph is a 5500 non od tranny. It looked like my car was going to top out just past 100 unless I pushed it past 6k. With the zs carb it took so long to get up to 90 that I had enough time to seriously think about the consequences of getting caught at such speeds. Of course in LA if you want to drive very fast the best place to do it is going south on 15 below the Cajon pass. You can go 100 mph and get passed on a regular basis.
Tony you have any speedo's for a 75 with about 47k miles on them? My speedo still works but the mileage stopped working right at 46600
All you do is take the back can off and turn the numbers to where you want them. Always set mine to 0 on a restore and I did three to the same car over the years.
That SU setup looks oh-so-much more "Official" than that poxy ZS. Niiice.
Now, will someone pleeeze have th' decency to KILL the "Quick Carburetion Fix" thread? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
She'll be gettin' a preview of what a B was s'posed to run like... and once Binabox is on its feet we'll see how much (or little) exercise Emma gets. Or what the date for cam, head porting/matching is. hehee.
If you're keeping the top and the pedal down... who needs a speedometer....
Besides, after you've been driving a while you should get a good "feel" for what's about right anyway.
I only use the speedometer when a cop or speed camera makes a reality check necessary.... The rest of the time I'm happy with a more impressionistic measure.....
