So, if money were no object,

Wife's maiden name. Wish she was part of that family

I have always answered that with
"there have been so many cool cars, how could you pick?"

I'm pretty happy with my little mini fleet these days, but had I cash around I'd find myself a lovingly maintained MG TC. Even though I hear they're a bit of a handful to drive, they are still, to my eye, one of the prettiest cars ever.

Don't even know if I'd fit in one, but were money no object I'd not care.

If money (/time) was no object I would finish my MGA and drive it IN CALIFORNIA!!!

Although you have dis-allowed it, I'll take a Bugatti.

But not one of those tarted up VWs with 1000 HP; a real Bugatti.
A Type 35b (1927-29)

Two-liter, supercharged, roller-bearing straight eight.
(with a neat blow-off hole in the bonnet to let flames out during backfires)

Non-removeable three-valve cylinder head.
(valve job requires crank removal)

Mechanical brakes with drums built into the wheels.
(Mr. B. said his cars"were made to go....not stop")

The famous, jewel-like, hollow, alloy front axle.

*The* racing car of the late twenties and early thirties.

These are glorious cars. Several hundred were made so not super rare. A nice one can be gotten for high six figures (USD) and a company in Argentina makes "exact" replicas that are so good, the Bugatti Owners Club approves of them (these fakes can be gotten for about $250,000)

I'll have mine in French Racing Blue, thank you.

A Cobra Daytona Coupe would be nice too.

what would you really drive what about you?

One of ~EVERYTHING~ !!!!

See, that's my point, one of everything is a typical answer I give too, but, even Leno can't get one of everything. I'm pushing here to nail down one dream car. (BTW didn't disallow Bugatti's - I think they are excellent choices - was referencing the Bugatti Royale or some such car that you probably wouldn't or couldn't ever actually drive.

Great choices so far - keep them coming.

The list below, all restored. "Money no object" would allow ME to do all the work, no pesky interruptions for the J O B.

That Lagonda is drop dead gorgeous!
This is a neat feature too
primary_4170_16.jpg

Hmmmm. my dream car... It changes over time... I used to want a Cobra. now I've worked on/ driven enough replicas, that I've gotten past that.
It'd be something really old.
On my possibilities list for someday, riches or not,
Model T touring
Model A sedan or pickup (I want Nutmegs truck!!!)
Morris Minor traveller
VW bug
VW camper van (westie)
One of those Aerocars with a Curtiss engine
Mercedes 300SL gullwing
Delorean
Ferrari 250GT
And there's plenty more.. It dosent have to be unobtainable to be on my list of favorites. Plenty of "cheapies" there
Right now I'd settle for a budget to finish the TR2

That Lagonda is a very excellent choice!

"Money is no object" for me would be:
1a) One of every pre-war Rolls Royce.
1b) Chitty Chitty Bang Bang replica built on a period correct chassis, etc. and a replica of the racer it was built from
2) Speed Racer's Mach 5 - there was a company that built them - $75G each
3) Batmobile
4) 1920's or 1930's fire truck

How's that for an eclectic garage?!

A Miata, which I'm already driving. If I hit the lottery tomorrow I wouldn't mind buying a new one (not to replace mine but to have a new one) and a new Mini too - sometimes I need the extra room for trips to Sam's Club.

They only want $119,500 for the Lagonda. Heck, there's some little Ferrari on eBay right now, sitting at $875,000 (Reserve not met).
$119,500 doesn't even qualify as "money, no object."
Better get it, JP, before it goes up to what it ought to be.

I'm not real big on the new ones, second gen yes.

Jp, I'm never satisfied. I'd Like a secong gen Miata, a Parnelli Jones Mustang GT, an Elise, whatever that wedge thing is and loads more I can't bring to mnd right now.

It's why I have a dealers license, I can't make up my mind.
