recently we had a pic of a Midget with Ford Escort(?) rims. The owner had adapted the hubs to fit. Would it make more sense to adapt the rims? In other words, if you drilled 4 X 4" holes inbetween the exiting 4 holes - would that compromise the rims?

Yesterday I was driving and saw a car driving with rims that appeared to be drilled for 3 different bolt patterns.

I don't really plan to do this - I just think about things

thoughts?

Do you really want this very highly stressed area of the wheel to have extra holes drilled in it? Not me!

Alot of "Tuner" wheels have 2 or 3 different bolt patterns, but they're cast that way. I think the problem would be the lug nut seat. Steel wheels have an extruded cone seat and aluminum wheels have a straight recessed seat or a chamfered recessed seat. Any way you went you would probably remove too much material and affect the integrity of the wheels. IMHO.

I am the guy who altered the Ford wheels. Do not, repeat do not drill four more holes!! I opened up the excisting holes and then made semi hardened washers to put the holes at four inch centers. I did not alter the car's wheel studs in case I wanted to go back to the Rostyle wheels and only machined a very small amount of the rims so as not to violate their integrity. I will begin re-furbishing the front end and I will have the wheels off if anyone would like pics.

Speaking of Wheels, i have Four ET Slotted mags that won't work on my SWA. The backset is about an inch too shallow! RATS. Complete with lug nuts and Uni-Lugs for 4 on 4", or 4 on 4 1/4". .. .. They SHOULD work with a BE or RWA car tho.. .. .. anyone interested? or are offers of part for sale forbidden on the Forums?.. i have pics if someone wants... I can bring them to LoTO for that matter. I paid about $400.. Oh yeah 13" X 5.5"

Offers are fine as long as you are not a business.

In fact we like to see what is available and for what.

We will be glad to tell you if you are too high. LOL
