The water pipe in this picture is silicone hose. It's sort of ugly...

I was thinking that a trip to HD to get a piece of copper pipe and turning it black with some POR-15, then using the two original green manifold connecting pipes.

Is there any reason this won't work that I missed?

The stuff from HD won't be quite the right diameter; you'll have to strain your hoses a bit to fit over it. But I've done similar things in the past and it's worked out fine for me.

Or you could go with stainless ...

Looks like the instructions I got with my Quickor
sway bars.....

"We printed these instructions twice,so that you -
- might read them once".

- Sorry,I couldn't resist.

I guess that you were serious about that Randall!!

Alan,

Below is the stainless hose that I just got from Summit Racing. And below that is the rest of the bling for the big guys. There are ends to match the rad hoses that fit on the heater hose.

Apologies to all for the duplicate posts. Not sure how 3 of them got in there ... the first time I got "page not found" after hitting Submit, then when I refreshed the page, my post didn't show up. So I submitted it again.

Strangely enough, BCF won't even let me edit the remaining post ... must think it's from someone else ?

Randall,

Let Basil know about that. He's running a Beta version software now and needs to know this stuff.

Paul, I have loads of -8 and -6 stainless hose lying around left over from plumbing the fuel system. Never thought to use it. Figured it was either too small, or unsuitable for hot water.

After looking at the size of the pipe through the original manifold though, I guess that it might not be. Perhaps I'll have a little experiment to see if I have something that fits before buying some copper pipe...

Alan,

I bought the 1/2" oil/heater high pressure line from Summit. I don't know how that matches up with the -8 & -6 sizes.

Paul- Just where are you planning to use all that?

Don,

Cheaper to buy their pre-cut than buying it by the foot. Go figure.....

There is probably only an extra foot or so there, after measuring all of the TR6 heater hoses. I wanted to allow for extra for the short curved ones in case I don't quite get them right on the first cut, if you know what I mean.

Thanks for the info Alan. I learn something here every day.

So not the rad hoses?
I'm sure you will post a finish photo!

Oh, sorry Don. I misunderstood.

I had the new radiator made with the 90 degree turn at the top, so that I could use a 12" straight stainless hose (the one in the middle) and the one in the background is for the lower hose, less the metal pipe that is currently in the factory setup between the two rubber hoses.

So to answer your question correctly, I will be using everything that is shown there.

Duh, i get it. I thought those ribbed things were some kind of fancy covers.
Kind of like this?
SSRadHose.jpg

Yeah, yeah Don....that's the ticket!

Those ribbed things are really stainless steel flex hoses and that have adapters to mate them to the radiator and water outlet and pump. Cut to length required.

I had the radiator inlet angled 90 degrees out toward the thermo housing so that I didn't have to fight that slight bend on the end of the hose shown above.

Now that car has some wicked bling under there!!!

Love that fuel splitter to the webbers. You need that on your trip. set up.

Yeah, that's another $500 waiting to be spent.

I'll put it at the top of the list for the next owner.

After the engine is completed, I'm done for a long time.

Hopefully......

Oh, I'll still be playing, like with the new dash and stuff, but I just want to drive it a lot this year.

Hey any tire clearance issures with the Panasports and tires Alana? We chatted about that intake in Dec.. If I could get one, I mite PI mine, not sure. Like you said, that was a 1 OF deal.
