Okay...enough time has pasted since our last drive attempt...how about a show of hands...who would like to go again? It will be on a Saturday...how about...Saturday 31st...that should give everyone enough time to plan...around 9 a.m. and then we'll all go to lunch...I'd really like to have over 10 cars on the drive...so if you know someone...bring them along...I'll post a route soon...and a meeting place...I'll try to make it as close to everyone...okay...are you in? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Steve...maybe next time...I hope...thanks... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Apparently...this outing is not getting any attention...so maybe it's the weather...it's extremely warm here (hot)...so maybe I'll need to postpone this until the fall...sorry...thanks...

I drive nearly every weekend in the LA to Ventura area. Any time someone wants to hook up feel free to let me know. Weather be damned, I drive anyway!

Don't know how I missed the initial post. Oh well, I have another LBC event planned for the 31st anyway.

I'll be up for a fall outing.

hey socal guys, i just signed up to kinda try and find out about the triumph that my gf's mom has. she wants to sell it so i kinda need to know what im selling first. anyone wanna help me out with this? email me at craig@eventvibe.com so far i think its a spitfire, and i know its orange.

Start with www.vtr.org for lots of information on all Triumphs. Buyers how to guides, classifieds, etc.

I like to check values on the Auto Trader website: www.traderonline.com. Go to the collector car section.

You can also check ebay. I handy tip is to use the advance search option to search for "completed" auctions only. That will give you the "sold" price. Ebay is not the most accurate price indicater, however, as auctions are sort of hit and miss.

The Spitfire is an awesome sportscar. Lightweight. Great handling. Values have not gone up much on them, however. My suggestion would be to find a fair middle price and buy the car yourself. Once you've owned a British Sports car, you will never go back to those boring, late model, computer controlled, can't fix them yourself, modern cars.

Also, a friendly forum suggestion would be to start a new post with your new subject line. You will get many more responses with a new thread.

after checking out the tvr site, i figure its worth about a grand. it has some rust and needs interior work, but from what i understand it runs. is that too much? any local guys interested in owning a spitfire?
