Had some visitors during the weekend snow event here
in Pumpkintown. LBCs remained tucked away for better days.
The Doe and the lil Buck are in the far left corner of the wide shot.

Cool! We get deer walking though the "common area" behind our house every once in a while.

I was so glad my 89 year old Mother got to see the deer.
We had Mom for the weekend and she LOVED being snow bound with us in the mountains.

I need to get to Detroit to see the folks here ASAP, too. Dad's going to be 94 in May, Mom is 80, neither one is doing well either.

Tried shoveling the drive some this afternoon, but I just haved got enough steam to run my snow shovel today... I'll try again later. Going up to mid 50's.

Stay warm.

Glad to hear they are both still with us.
I lost my Dad at 92 years young this Jan. 2nd.
It has been rough on Mom. They were married for 70 years.
It was nice to see her smile about the snow storm
and she loved the deer.
Now, she isn't too pleased about hearing the coyotes
and glad we didn't have the bears pay a visit.
It was wonderful to get her to smile again.

David,
I'm sorry to hear about your Dad, (another member of the "Greatest Generation"). Very sad. I hope you enjoyed lots of good times with him.

I'm out to hit the driveway again. Didn't get very far last go'round. Warmer now, see how long a last this time.

Say, there's a Pumpkin town near us on 441 at the foot of Cowee Gap after Dillsboro, before Franklin. Kind of an unusual name for a town. Quaint.

...let's go shovel some more snow...

Patrick,

I'm a fortunate son. At age 12 I went to work in my
Dad's Service Station. Worked for .50 an hour till I left home for college. Always in touch and for the last several years of his life we ended every conversation with "I love you."
Saw him the day he passed on.

There are several Pumpkintowns. I know of one in Tenn. as well.
This particular P'Town goes back aways. 1700s for the Europeans
and WAY back for the Cherokee.

Keep your shovel tuned. Tonight and then this weekend. AGAIN.

Don't ya just love the Sunny South. :jester:

Getting about isn't much problem with Land Cruisers.
Shoot I didn't even need the heavy hitter Gundy, the FJ40. It just sits there for when the situation is about impossible.
