Dragged another one home today. It started with a 5hp single stage Craftsman I got in a lot of small engines I bought. I thought it was bad, but after tearing it down, it runs like a top.
Then my uncle "donated" a Craftsman 7hp 2-stage to me. An afternoon of tinkering, some new belts, and it's running beautifully.
Today I picked up an old Ariens 5hp 2 stage. Some of the motor is apart,(Blower cover, flywheel,Carb bowl, But it's in rather good shape. I'll tinker with it this week, then 2 of the 3 are going on CL and I'm gonna see if I can magically turn them into a rat-rod! mehehehehehe

Nothing like an old snowblower -- mine (Toro) is 26 years old and still going strong. I had mine next to the neighbor's new one and you could see the quality difference. My older one is definitely better made, thicker metal.
