Snow? Anyone driving? What's your weather doing?

Finally might get above freezin here for the first time in a few days.
My garage heater is set at 40 for a low setting and has been running quite a bit all week.
Maybe take the Wedge out for a spin before the snow flies.

Dale lives in Puerto Rico, land of everything nice.

I hold onto th' illusion that livin' on th' continent still gives me the option to scurry to higher ground if forced. :jester:

But you've got to drive 200 miles north to begin to find any higher ground Doc. P. R. may be an island, but when the water rises, they have the mountains. It then just becomes a smaller island.

"Higher Ground" is illusory IMH, Jim. Mebbe, mebbe not. Could even be a moon colony as th' thang. Won't know 'til we NEED it. My personal opinion is: we've squander'd our opportunity... we're too late to take advantage of the 'leg up'.

Billy: I'm Somewhere in Paradise. :smirk:

My sis lives in St Pete, thus I ask. Don't worry, aint commin' over to steal nothin'......especially if yer a/c aint runnin' and the house cool......

Wet, dreary and just plain ugly!!! It's the wettest December on record and weather guy says it might go down as the wettest MONTH ever. How we got more rain in Dec then huccarain season is beyond me. It's rained almost everyday this month so far. santa is expected to show up in a pirogue...which is traditional here anyway.....

JUS' PLAIN UGLEEEEE !!!!

Would like to ask a question: Why do people assume that a smaller car can't be driven when it's slippery?

I run an early Miata as a daily driver. It snowed a week or so ago while I was at work-a steady snowfall all day long, but not really heavy, just slushy, and the city kept the streets pretty clear.

Anyway, all I heard all day long was: How are you going to get home? But your car is so SMALL!!!! It can't handle the snow! ITS SMALL!!!

It's a line of reasoning I don't really get. The only time snow has really made travel in this car difficult is when it's very deep (ground clearance problems). I've spent lots of time driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee in similar conditions to last week, and let me tell you, I'd rather be in a vehicle I KNOW will go round a turn and stop, than a car whose technology I'm HOPING will allow it to do so.

Sorry, I've just been hearing that a lot lately. Needed to get it offa my chest.

It's called ignorance.

I wouldn't want to drive it in snow simply because of said larger vehicles that may not be able to stop using ME as an inertia brake.

Here comes ROUND 2 just in time for XMAS....Nebraska...freezing rain tonight turning to snow continuing into Friday....15 inches accumulation, 40+ mph winds and single digit temps....so much for that holiday trip to Kansas City this year....

I can't believe we took a top down drive on the winter solstice! Today wasn't so great...overcast and drizzle moving in. Oh well, that's two days in December...looking forward to spring already!

upper 40's, abundant sunshine. Nice Day. Picked bluegrass for 3 hours tonight. YEE-HA!
