Here are the details as we know them today. All will be added to the web site by Mike Rambour, our web guru, shortly...

Who: You (of course!)
What: Spridget Golden Anniversary
When: June 26-29, 2008
Where: Inn at Grand Glaize, Ozark Beach, MO <www.innatgrandglaize.com> We have the entire hotel as a "Spridget Golden
Anniversary" headquarters! You can call now for your reservation with a room rate around $89. Tell them you are with the Spridget group. From the sound of things the hotel will fill quickly. There are plenty of other hotels nearby but LotO is VERY popular in the summer so book
your rooms ASAP! There will be a BE in the lobby!

Event schedule: TBD but will include in addition to a "Spridgets List Gathering", a mass drive w/ police escort (thanks to Jack Laird!), Car Show & BBQ lunch in the beautiful Ozark State Park, driving tours (Missouri Wineries - Ozarks - Branson - The best Spridget roads in the USA but don't ride with Frank!), tech sessions,
funkhana, autocross, poker run, sight seeing, awards & prizes, a visit with "Buster" or a short drive to see the world renown "Macy Ln",
...etc.

For the "We tight crowd" -
How much: Pre-registration is projected to be around $75 before June 1, 2008, $90 thereafter. You will be able to pre-register shortly via the web site using PayPal. There will be a ton of goodies in your registration packet including all the official 50th memorabilia (shirts, plaques, key fobs, what have you). The awards banquet the
evening of the 29th will be separate from the registration fee and is projected to run around $25.

What else?:
We hope to bring Daniel Stapleton (How to Power Tune Midget and Sprite for Road and Track) from England and we have invited Jay Leno. David Leib and Larry Daniels are putting together a special calendar. We,hope to webcast parts of the event. Pictures of you and your car will
be available for those who wish.

Get your rooms locked in now guys.

I'll be there! Just booked my room, lakeside view, non-smoking with a private balcony WAHOO!!!

Do I have a lot of work to do in the next year.....

Thanks for the leg-work, Jack. I hope to book a room in the next couple of days.

Fourteen rooms are now spoken for, get in there early or you may be staying elsewhere.

Non smoking King, in on the 26th, out on the 30th. Time off confirmed with my work boss, and trip confirmed with my home boss (wife). This will be our 6th wedding anniversary trip as well, y'all should be impressed. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I've got to get busy on the Tunebug now...

By my count we are now over 20 room reservations. They are going fast. That's in the first 24 hours and we got over a year to go.

Jack, when do actual events start? When will folks be arriving? Right now we're scheduled to arrive in on Thursday night (the 26th). I can move that up a day if necessary, but I was figuring that the 26th was just the start/register day.

Not a clue yet Drew, but I plan to be there two days early to get set up etc.

I should think, like you that the first day will be a mad house. The first day will be my day to check out folks rides. We will have advance regesteration later on, on line, for the early birds.

I am so excited to just meet all you guys face to face, other than Jeff and Tony I have not seen any of you.

Miss Agatha says she is excited that she will get to mingle with the other Spridgets, think maybe she is looking for a boy friend?

I'll probably plan to add a day to my reservation on the front end. Easy enough to change it later, but that way I'll be covered.

I just bet we can even find something for you to do. Going to need some help I would bet.

OK, so I am a newbie here... but I really like seeing all the cars... so I just made reservations at the Inn.(now I have to tell my wife)...Guess I will have to sign up for the 'event'.

I guess my wife will have to put up with two car events next year, as I am also hoping to get to Gaydon for the UK event. (man, the payback for this is going to be heck)...

I am doubtful that I would be able to bring my Sprite... 10 hours, plus stops, plus da fact that my wife and I ain't as young as we useta wuz.. Maybe my '69 ends up being a trailer queen/king and the ride from Texas ends up being in my truck....hmmmm... now... who can I borrow a trailer from?

oh well.... the problem is over a year away... so hopefully I can resolve it in the meantime.

Tschuss...
Larry Swofford

My wife agrees that Miss Agatha will have her very own trailer. About 1400 bucks as best I can tell at this time.

So we ride in A/C comfort etc etc all the way.

I'm going to be trailering Tunebug as well. 1200 miles across the Wyoming, Nebraska, and Kansas. I'll have about 2 days to do the drive, so it's got to be as quick as possible.

One thought about trailers--if you can afford to, buy a good used trailer for the trip. Decent trailers are usually an easy sell, you can probably get all your money back the week after you're done with it.

A friend of mine has a really good Sprite sized trailer; I'm going to try to have one made up to match it if I can get it done for a reasonable cost.

WHOA!! Send me some literature, Jack...gotta set our room up...also, I may need a table to hand out Moss catalogs!

Try this Tony. Get your hotel reservation now. They going fast at our primary location.

There will be info for vendors and such a bit later on but be sure that we will do it.

This is going to be a real wing ding and a chance to see cars from all over the country in all kinds of configurations and such. Not to mention a chance to meet our buds from right here at Basil's place.

How do you guys know you can so this a year from now? I can't seem to plan two weeks in advancelet alone a year. I guess we will bring the camper and find a camp spot since all the hotels are going to be full. Kim, you're welcome to one of the bunks if you get stuck! T:smile:

This area is a major summer rec area, always lots and lots of things going on. I understand we will be susprised at all the activity.

The deal is we took the whole hotel for this period so only a limited amount of rooms there, however lots of other places to stay including camp grounds, trailer parks, hotels, motels, etc.

ahhhh, i see everyones comin to zimmy country! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif (MO-ARK)
