Anyone know where a set of snap ring plyers can be bought for the MG MC second snap ring. The book show a set that are long and bent 90 degrees. Any help?? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/patriot.gif

I have but the plyers are not long enought. I have a $300+ set from Mac and they do not fit down in the cyclinder. I will check out the sites thanks.

Buy a good set.Ibought one at Sears,& it kept slipping.
Next time I needed this tool, I bought it from Matco (kind
of like Snap-On).They work great.Worth the money.

I got a set of tiny needlenose pliers in a pack of three pliers (side nips, needlenose, and curved pliers), all very small. It turned out that I could extract the inner snap ring with that, and the total cost from a Sears Hardware was like $7.50 for all three. However, barring that, use a hemostat (spelling?). They're used by biology types, and have the ability to lock in a position, as well as having extraordinarily long jaws. Not sure where to find them, though. My mother had a set she let me use /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

We have a new Matco dealer in town. I'll go talk to him. I'm just tired of the strain of dealing with the second snap ring. The MG manuals I have show a snap ring plyers that are long and 90 degree angle.

I bought a set from Harbor Freight - has a wholw bunch of snap ring pliers in it...one of them worked...but every other tool in garage is Craftsman...do you have the number of the set?

Sorry, I meant the number for the Craftsman set that contained the plier that works.

No, I have a Mac set that doesn't work. I found a cheap set in the $5 bin at the local parts house and I was able to make them work. I would really like to get a set of British ones mentioned in the handbook. Oh, side note, shipping from you to me so I can include it.
