As I build confidence in my own abilities I carry less
spares and less tools. For example, I no longer carry a
spare transmission or spare differential or spare drive shaft.

There goes another keyboard, hot tea...
You carry less? PLEEEEESE!!

One more time, Dale: if you trust your work & the car, empty the trunk....it says one thing to me: lack of trust!

I took that '67 MGB I bought last week out for a nice drive today - it has no brakes other than the hand brake & the clutch pedal is on the floor! Seats are just sitting in it not bolted down; but, I had to see what it is.....so, I drove it around the back roads around my house for about an hour with no tools, no spares, nothing other than my cell phone (& later found out Jerri was downtown shopping!!).....you gotta have faith!!

That's because you believe in redundancy for redundancy....if 1 will do, stick 2 or 3 in the trunk!

I would, however, like to have 3 times as many pistons as I have now.

I'd still probably end up turning in circles...

But it would be fun'er
