Snap on front of door

I'm fitting a tonneau on my BT7, and am wondering if the snap on the front of the door should be used or not. It's not mentioned in the Originality Guide, and I can't find any good photos of other similar cars wearing tonneaus to compare. The hardware that came with my tonneau didn't include any snaps, but it looks like a good place for one. What do y'all think?

FWIW, I'm pretty sure that isn't an original snap. My 1960 BN7 didn't have it and I don't recall ever seeing that style on an AH.

I've had a BT7 and currently have a BN6, and no snaps on either one.
Would it keep the tonneau from flapping as much at speed, probably, but
not original. If you already have them on both sides and don't want to
fool with filling in the holes, etc, maybe switch out to tenax fasteners
which were at least used on BT7's, BN7's, BN4's and BN6's. Still wouldn't
be correct but would look more correct if that makes sense !

I had an aftermarket tonneau years ago that came with an extra "finger" of vinyl that extended forward around the outside of the right windshield post. The instructions said to install a snap similar to yours at the base of the right windshield post and the female portion of the snap to the tonneau "finger". The design was to keep the right edge of the tonneau from flapping around at speed. I never installed the snaps but it looked like it would have been effective.
