Since the wind's shifted to a Western direction,we're getting a lot of smoke
from the fires East of here.Kind of like fog,but smells worse!Plus,it was almost 90 degrees
here yesterday.
I finally washed my truck a couple of weeks ago,for the first time this years,
only to find it covered in ash the next day.
 
We had a break for a few days, but it's back big-time. Visibility about 1.5 miles.
 
I think we must be getting a bit of it here too - been very hazy lately.
 
Everything within a few blocks is hazy here. The mountains are just dark shadows in the distance and Flathead Lake is not even visible from a couple of blocks away. Has my COPD in an uproar. I can't even go out to my brother's to work on the spitfire. 70 mile drive round trip and I can work for maybe 2-3 hours at most. Such is life I guess.

Smoke's worse today,but at least the temp
has dropped a little.I can only imagine the Firefighters
living/working in 100+ degree weather,plus those who
have lost everything.
 
The ash-fall is getting significant today. Nasty stuff to breath or get in your eyes.
 
Worst day so far for smoke. Bright blood red sun yesterday afternoon and evening. Almost 500'000 acres burned so far in western MT.
 
Our sky has been an orange color for days. A strange look. Visibility down to about a mile.
 
Due to the jet stream, we have had a light smokey haze down here in NE Oklahoma for a couple days. PJ
 
I got tired of seeing the ash on my "new" truck,so I washed
both trucks,& my Wife's car yesterday.Last night,we had a lightning storm,&
it poured down rain.That'l teach me!
Hopefully,the rain helped slow the fires.
 
No rain forecast for here for the entire month. Visibility is about a half mile with heavy haze. At least the temps are down to the upper and mid 80's. Gonna have to find the longjohns if this keeps up.:playful:
 
Sending positive thoughts to all those affected by the fires. We are indeed getting the smoke here in New Mexico. It's a strong haze and is impacting those with respiratory problems.
 
We have the haze hanging over us in SW Oklahoma now. I can't fathom fires as large as what these must be to produce this level of visibility this far away.
