Heck I didn't.
House rattled, cats freaked out, got me right of bed.

I awoke to the news and thought immediately of you, Baz. And our resident lawyer, James H.

The wife swears she heard lamps rattling in our house and felt the tremors. I was dozing, but I don't remember feeling anything.

I red recently ther have been an unusually high number of quakes off the Oregon coast too lately.

This is what happens when you make fun of California. Glad to see that no one was injured.

ain't gonna stop ME. :smirk:

Perhaps it's a result of those two volcanoes erupting two or three days ago

Earthquakes are no fun at all.Just glad no one was injured.

I've experienced a few myself.

Stuart.

This morning I woke up at 3:30am and thought what the heck am I awake for? Then a little while later, I recall thinking that I heard a frieght train and what the heck was that....

This morning I heard on the radio that several people reported that it sounded like a frieght train rolling by. When I got to work, my co-workers were discussing it and we all had similar experiences - waking at 3:30, thinking we heard a frieght train, etc.

It does have a freight train type sound to it.

Woke my wife up, she woke me up...doors were rattling and could hear the low rumble...really strange. Then I was sitting here in my office and my monitor started shaking, apparantly it was a 4.5 aftershock, the main one this morning was a 5.2. There was a little damage here in the St. Louis area, western Illinois apparantly felt it more. One of my co-workers saw some pretty large cracks in his front porch and one inside his house. He lives in Edwardsville, IL. I realize this is common on the west coast, but at least the structures out there are designed for it.

might be time to buy some ocean front property in indiana :jester:

With glaciers and ice sheets melting lickety-split, that might be possible sooner than you think.

Agreed! Snow loads, fine. EARTHQUAKES?!?! In Illinois?!?! I know it's not ~common~ there. Now the building codes will be revised, insurance premiums will rise, all with some bureaucrats pointing to this event as justification. :wall:
