slave cylinder

69tr

I ordered a clutch slave cylinder for my 69 TR6 from Victoria British. When I started to install said slave cylinder the port was too small to accept the fitting on the hose. I don't know if a po changed the slave cylinder and hose in the past or if the one I bought has the wrong size port. can anyone help me out with this. I live in the boonies and none of the parts stores has anything to adapt the two pieces. Thanks, Pete

I also had a problem with the SC purchased
from VB for my 69TR. Put up a photo of your
problem and maybe I can help you with this one.

I have been in contact with VB about the slave cylinder. They are going to send me another hose to see if it will fit. I went to a hydraulic suppy shop that makes hoses for the mining industry and they made up a hose using a JIC bulkhead fitting and a regular JIC hose. It looks pretty cobbled up, but it will work until I can get the right parts figured out. I will keep you posted. Pete

That cobbled up look with oil lines, gas lines and a number of other repairs I saw back when TR's and MG's were "real time" on the road seemed to cause a great deal of unreliable performance. Keep after the correct line with the correct fittings.
