I purchased the Singer that was in winston salem North carolina that was advertised on CL and there was a forum discussion on this car in November / dec 2014. The car showed photos of the front in the ad but when i got the car all the wood work in the back had been taken out and needed some work or replacement. Does anyone know of a source for a wood ash frame for a Singer or someone who could help me get the wood parts made from the samples i have which is the old parts from the wood frame of the car. if so could you please email me at emgeetf@aol.com. I am pretty good with my hands but this is a whole new ball game we are talking here or so I think because I have never attempted to do frame work on a car where the strength comes from the wood frame and the sheet metal attached to the wood frame by a few nails and screws.

While I don't have specific ideas, you might want to reach out to those who have restored MG-TDs, TFs or TCs (fairly common Brit sports cars that use a lot of wood framing.

~These Guys~ might be able to give you some guidance (but you might have some vintage MG restorers closer to you).

Another logical group to reach out to would be any Morgan restorers (but they are much less common).

Also, maybe wooden boat groups.

You might also try Craig Seabrook who owns the Whitworth shop in Novelty Oh, you can find it on the web. He makes individual pices and complete tubs for T series and earlier MGs. He might be able to help you getting new pieces cut from your originals. No guarantees he can help but the wood I got from him was well made.

The best source for old Singer spares is Dave Hardwick Spares Limited in Lincoln, UK. They have wooden (Ash) frames in stock (depending on model) or can have one made from OEM jigs. I visited them about a year ago. Send an email to Sally Hardwick.
