Where IS that lad?

I was just thinkin' the same thing last night. Been 20 days since his last post.

Any chance he's been affected by the fires? I thin he's in Montrose, Northeast of LA?

I drove though his area a couple times last week (not stalking) and didn't see smoke. Maybe he is reaping the benefit of the make-over, that's what I'm hoping for anyway.

sorry folks! I've just been ~crazy~ busy at work, and haven't had my usual down time to dilly dally during the day.

After hours has been quite busy for me lately too. I must admit that the personal life isn't quite where I'd like it to be. However, I have a relatively good sense that they may be heading that way... sooner or later... Still, it's a much better personal life than what I had this time last year.

The B has been running great for the most part. I regularly hit 80 with no OD going up hill on the freeway on my nightly trek home now (been leaving work WAY after rush hour is over ... like 1930-2000 late). Though, I did have a situation develop Sunday afternoon, where the engine cut out on me for no apparent reason. Had power, had fuel to the bowl, had spark... just wouldn't restart after stalling. A couple of minutes of fiddling with connections did nothing. But it started right up when I pulled the choke. Thought it was a little odd at the time cause the engine was fully warmed up. Only thing I can think of to cause it was possibly a minor blockage in the jet that cleared when I pulled the choke.

The only car thing that has me mildly concerned is the oil press. After doing a steady 80 on the freeway, the press drops to 30lbs at idle. If I stick to the surface streets for the same drive, it never drops under 50lbs. I'm half thinking it might be my oil filter or the weight of oil in use, because I don't remember it doing that before my last oil change. I have a Bosche filter on it right now; not exactly sure what weight oil went in ... hmmmm... That's my fault though, I didn't specify when I had the place change the oil.

Also noticed that the head gasket is weeping oil down the side of the engine block. Just enough oil is coming out to keep the engine block damp all the time. Not serious at this point in time, but it will need to be changed sooner than later.

And no, I'm not in the fire zone. However, I did receive plenty of 'fall out' from all the smoke plumes. It's made for some interesting moon rise and sun sets over the past week. When read some of the reports on the fires, I couldn't help but think of Bret since he's in one of the areas that was reportedly evacuated. How's he doing, anyone know?

Oh yeah, before I forget; Thanks for the email Basil. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
