I played a gig last night at the Simeone Automotive Museum in Philadelphia. All I can say is: WOW.

Best of all, these cars don't collect dust. Twice a month on Saturdays, they have Demo Days where they take three or four cars out of the collection, give a lecture on the significance of the car and then take them out for a spin on their back lot -- all 3 acres of it.

The British marques are well represented, too.

If you live anywhere within driving distance of the museum -- GO!!! If you are planning on a trip to the East Coast, make a detour. It's definitely well worth the time!

My sister lives in Seven Park, MD. Maybe one day if I'm out there visiting I could head up there. Looks very interesting!

Very cool!

I enjoyed the Simeone as well. I love the diorama displays. And next time any of you are visiting there, please consider contacting me for a personally guided tour at America On Wheels in Allentown where I am a volunteer docent and detailer. Our displays change regularly with one gallery completely changed every six months. This Saturday is the last day we will have four vehicles from "Transformers" in our lobby, including Rollbar, Megatron, Sideswipe, and Bumblebee. When Ed Welburn, formerly of GM design, was at the display, he explained that Bumblebee was a pre-production Camaro, hence the fake windshield wipers, the plexiglass windows, and the cardboard gauges. Mr. Welburn is on our board of directors. Current photos from the museum are posted at https://www.flickr.com/photos/brooklands/albums/72157687798222624/with/37878360552/

When a classic is driven, I do the happy dance.
