TR5/TR250 Silly TR250 Vent/Blower Question

Howdy all! I've got a really silly, basic question about the vent and blower on my TR250. When I open the scuttle vent between the windshield, and turn on the blower with the heater off, am I bringing fresh air into the car, or will this only work when the heater is on?

Thanks!

I assume the TR250 is the same as the TR4A I have. The "heater on or off" can be two things. Are you talking about the temperature, in which case it has no effect. If you arre talking about the little flab under the heater core then it will just change were the air is sent. Opening of the scuttle (from what I could figure looking it over) just sends fresh air into the "plenum" that the face level vents are attache to and I think that is where the scuttle air comes out. I have only had the TR4 on the road for a small while and have had other shake down issues to deal with so I am no expert on the heater.
