Sill replacement

Hey,
In a prior post, a couple of you mentioned being able to replace the sills without cutting the rocker panels out.
Can you or someone go into detail on that process from past experience or knowledge. The sills are only bad in the first 18 inches on drivers side, and the last 9 inches on the other. Or, would you do the whole cut out to make sure the rockers get the proper attention?
I would appreciate any info on this topic, because beside that, the car(73'B) is really solid.
Thanks

Newkie

I don't see how it could be possible to replace the sills without cutting off the rockers because the sills are under (behind) the rockers. You could possibly patch sections of the inner sills and castle rails without affecting the rockers, but that's not the best way to do it. If somebody has done as you are suggesting, I would like to hear how they did it.

John, if you agree with Newkie, could you give a little more detail on how you did this work without removing the rockers? I'm dying to hear this!

OOOPS! Sorry, I meant I agree with you! I don't see how you could do the job without removing the rockers. Sorry for the confusion.

Booo!
Well thats what I had planned. But I could've been easily convinced with an easier way...

In that case, I hear it can be done quite easily by sending me a sizable sum of money.

No need to bring the car by (although that's always welcome as well), just lay the sills approximately where you want them to eventually be properly seated, put a check in the mail, go for a nice evening out and come back to check your progress every few days.
