Sill Paint Question

I'm getting my '74 Midget painted this week. It currently has the painted black strip along the bottom sill beneath the moulding. However, unlike most Midgets I've seen, it carries the black strip all the way around the car...onto the front/rear fenders and below the front/rear bumpers.

I don't mind how it looks, but I was wondering if it would have come from the factory like this. I don't recall ever seeing another RWA this way.

Any insight is appreciated!

Hi Scott,

I had a `72 Midget that I bought "Brand New" exactly like yours! Same color etc etc. But due to the fact that, That was nearly 40yrs. ago; I`m going by "Memory" (LOL) & say; "No", I don`t recall the Front & Rear being painted.

I don't think they stated painting them like that until the rubber bumper models. Maybe yours was close enough that they started practicing.
