As promised, I'm letting folks know we've just opened our new Life of Igor Sikorsky exhibits at the New England Air Museum.

From 1909, his first primitive helicopter in Kiev, Ukraine:

To the letter he wrote in 1972, the day he died.

Awesome! I trust the museum will achieve new heights with this display.

We look forward to visiting!!

(Just need to find a break in the schedule…perhaps MLK day, if work in the factory slows down??)

Will add this to my list in June. The United States Sidecar Club is have their National Rally in Topsham Maine.

Tom,

That letter is historic on at least two counts, as it's written to Jerome Lederer of the Flight Safety Foundation, the "Father of Aviation Safety". Lederer, who died in 2004 at age 101, inspected Lindbergh's Spirit of St. Louis the night before he left for Paris! See more about Mr. Lederer at > Jermone F Lederer - Flight Safety Foundation <

Keith - that's part of why I chose to display that letter for the visitors.

Another thing I put on display - the book that originally inspired the child Sikorsky back in the 1890s:

And one of the book's drawings, showing Robur's "flying ship", with horizontal propellers at the top of each mast.

I wish you guy closer Tom, I'd love to visit your museum.
