signs of spring

Yesterday was by far one of the nicest days we've yet had here in the fingrlakes. Seeing as I work on a main road I get to see lots of traffic. Yesterday saw several motorcycles, a T-Bucket hotrod, a cherry 70 Mach 1 Mustang, And to top it all of, as I pulled out of the shop on a test drive I was nearly blown off the road by the wind gust carring the sweet sound of a Ferrari V12 in full song, as a black, late 80s, Testarossa when flying past.
That's a prety good sighting for our backwater area. especially this time of year.
Oh yea.. Today I spotted a Robin... (The bird, not the 3 wheeled car.)

It is coming, that is for sure. Sugar season is in full swing around here- and i saw a bike on the road Monday. Have not seen any robins yet, But the last couple of days have been just gorgeous, but it is just a tease,it aint done snowin yet....

mehheh... Think ~POSITIVE~ thoughts, Mark!!!

That'd be rare indeed!!! They used a "BOXER" (flat) 12 in them sleds. Twin dizzies driven off'n the intake cams. :smirk:

YUP, Here in the {Sorta} flat lands of Utah too! Tha neighbor`s Globe Willow tree is showin` signs of greenin` up, Seen some robins millin` about, Native Utah Grass is greenin` up too! Sure, we will get a few more snow storms and they may even stick for a day or too, But signs are in the air all around SIGH!
Won`t be long.

Drove my car 45 miles today and yesterday WITH THE TOP DOWN!!!!!

In Ontario in March, that is great.

Pretty soon I'll be mowing grass. WAIT! Did I say that out loud?

Dave :driving:

It has been in the 40's here for a couple weeks (20's at night). Mud season is in full swing with 2 feet of snow still to melt. I have a 10 wheeler's load worth of stone for the road but it's still frozen, of course. Our road/driveway is still 4WD only except at night when it's frozen.

Maples are tapped but "spring" seems a long ways away.

Banjo, you can tell were just a buncha dyed-in-the-wool gearheads here: noticing fancy cars as a sign of spring instead of the flowers!

Sheesh, it must be a disease!

I packed up the snow blower...I hope that is not a curse on the coming of spring. But there were buds on the forsythia and the magnolia tree when I was out playing with our granddaughter yesterday, so that should mean spring will be here in the next month...

Ya got me Doc. I never claimed to "know" Ferraris. It still sounded great tho... hehehehehe

Nothin' else quite like 'em, flat OR V config. Noises to beat any operatic aria, IMO. Especially a Weber'd V12.

Ooohh.... jus' thinkin' on it I'm gettin' all 'tingly'.

Yet another sure sign of spring in the Top of Utah...

Stopped by the storage unit and checked out the wedge. Tires up, uncovered her, and connected the battery. Fired right up. Let her run for a few minutes, then tucked her back in, but she will be coming home sometime in the next week or so.

Another one...saw a "B" out and about last weekend.

We are down to about three feet of snow....... Ahhhh, yep, yep, spring is coming. Only a couple more months.

I took the first motorcycle ride of the season last Sunday. Bike's now down in the city getting new tires and a safety inspection. Most of the snow is gone from the front yard (we're about a month ahead of last year's melt).

But the surest sign of spring? I started working on the Tunebug again, so it must be warm(ish) out there!

Well... They are starting to melt down the ice skating rink downtown, that has to be a good sign that winter is on the way out...

You mean this one here? There's quite a story behind this street portrait...

The image ~IS~ the story. It wouldn't be called photojournalism otherwise.

...and I like the B&W image better.

I would guess that you certainly changed her outlook on the Day....

mark

Yeah Doc, that is true, and I did have to take the bottom photo first to gain the permission for the B&W one above it, so...

Mark... I suspect I probably did, I know that encounter certainly impacted me

And now back to that talk of springtime again...
