P.S. Nice that you have joined our side, being in hock isn't so bad...

Great news, Bret. Congratulations. Now you can
worry about all those LBC oil spots in your driveway
too.

Congratulations Bret! And if this is your first home, welcome to the world of happy home-moaners!

(looks *great*!)

Thanks folks!

I haven't owned a home in about 15 years actually and due to the nature of my work it didn't really pay at the time to have a home.

Besides the last house I owned the ex-wife got - so needless to say I was a little gun shy at the notion of homeownership. But while I pretty much do the same type of work – I’m almost Five-O and was looking for a tax shelter with the last of my youngins from that first marriage going out on his own.

For those that missed it in the last thread heres a link with more pictures: Bret's new Homestead

Woohoo!

Welcome to the joys (and pains) of home ownership. Glad the process went well for you -- now comes the good parts. May you enjoy your new home for many years to come.

CONGRATULATIONS - and it looks like you won't be faced with one of my toughest decisions - mow the grass or play with the car!

Actually thats only the front yard. If you look at the pics you'll see that I've got about a 1/4 acre to mow out in the back.

Bret:

Great news, now the B and shark get pushed off to the side.

Pat

Nope the Shark & the B will cohabitate in a much more spacious dwelling and should still have plenty of room to be able to work in the garage without having to pull one or the other out.

That said I think before I move in (got a month) I’m going to flip the dime to give the boring concrete garage floor one of those nice Epoxy Coatings.

Remember my 2nd directive: "Lawn is just a place where there's no garage yet!"

Congrats on your new house! Where can I send a quart of oil as a house warming gift! LoL It'll be British oil, you can tell because the container leaks!

There is a thread started recently about garage flooring. Seemed many don't care for the epoxy finish, doesn't hold up well, or so the feedback went.

How many divorced men does it take to change a lightbulb??

NONE - they all went with the house!!

Again, CONGRATS!!!

Since your on horse property just buy a goat and no more lawn worries.
Nope! I'll stick with my Honda mower thank you.

I come from a long line of Horse people dating back to Ranchers in the early 18th century. The running joke about Goats is that they're “Starter Projects” for kids joining 4-H who've never been around livestock in their lives. Besides not wanting to upset any of my ancestors who might be inclined to come back & haunt my arse - I think they stink.

I updated the photo link Bret's NEW Homestead!

I got rid of some duplicate pics and added some.

Significant are some of the new pics of the garage without all the guys crap in it.
