Saw this line on another forum I frequent & thought it might be the perfect signature line for me:

"Lawn is just a space where a garage is yet to be built."

hehehehehe

I thought your place was all paved and just painted green

That's great!!!

Of course, I believe anyone who fills their garage with junk and parks all their cars outside should be arrested...so I might be an invalid data point!

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/iagree.gif I cringe when I look into my neighbours garages full of kids toys, lawn mowers, furniture and anything else conceivable while I am here climbing through the window of my car with a suit on just so I can park 4 in there.

A neighbor across from me his loaded up with old furniture and junk. He has just enough room to get his Porsche Boxter in sideways!!! I've never seen him actually park the car, but it just barely fits sideways - with almost no room to spare.

'round here there are a lot of "converted" garages: Made into 'living space'... I don't get it.

I'm having a huge sign made of that quote & gonna hang it in the GarageMahal!

guilty as charged... but when SWMBO's mom got dumped after 30 years of marriage I was more than happy to sacrifice the garage (and the paint on the TR3 as it turns out) for a temporary landing zone until she was back on her feet. And now that extra room his awfully hard to give up when you're starting with 1200sqft and 2 little ankle-biters in an insane CA real estate market.

Sometimes life just gets in the way.

I think you'll all agree that at the end of the day it's just stuff and the only important thing in the world is family.

don't I know it...

so you suck it up and take joy in the little things... like the fact that I'm wearing shorts right now and the old man is freezing his tookus off in Jaybird's neck of the woods.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yup. That should help. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

We're actually still in high 80's here too... shorts 'n flip-flops... sweatin' as I prep a seat base fer th' Recaro... "Yes," it's goin' in the B... *sigh*

High tomorrow expected to be 55 with sunny intervals, might take the "new" car for a drive.

Have to keep the battery charged up, I tell the wife... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Might play with a few things under the bonnet, too, just for a little fun....

mmffrrggmmffr Furnace just kicked on here... It's not freezing, but definatly turning cooler (currently 53f)
I thought a garage WAS "living" space.... I coulden't convert mine to a room if I wanted... not that I want to... I'm dreaming of a 30x40, 2 story shop to replace my 20x20 1950 shack... I dunno how they EVER fit 2 american cars of that vintage in there... what were they thinking? shoulda been at least 25x25... but there's a ton of garages around here just the same as mine.. It musta been a popular kit, or a special from a local business.
The best quote Iv'e seen recently was in little glass-etched type letter stickers on a side mirror that read
"Objects in mirror are losing"

We have 6 of us in a 3 bedroom home. You do the math. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Another thing - I have 3 non-running
"project" cars in the garage, while the running
cars stay outside.
Somehow that seems strange to me - especially
while the Datsun B210 is in the garage!
