TR6 Sienna?

Just got my (correct) heritage certificate. tells me the original color when it left the factory was Sienna. Is that the brownish color I sometimes see?
 
From having raised two kids, I know that color. I can see why it was repainted - now red. Interior also appears to have been changed from tan to black.
 
Sienna is a relatively dark brown, when I think in terms of BSB, I'm more inclined to think of the color Saffron or possibly Honeysuckle. Honeysuckle was a bit of a one off color, offered only in 1973. I've never seen a TR6 in Honeysuckle but have seen it on a GT6.
 
Speaking of red paint, I've got a couple of nicks, a gouge and scratches. I'm not sure what color was used when it was repainted many years ago. I found a can of spray paint last year - a Ford color - that looked close, but someone borrowed it and did not return it. What's the best way to match the color and fill the nick? I stink at bodywork and the shops around here charge an arm and a leg.
 
What I did because my TR6 was repainted a non-TR6 color was go to the automotive paint supplier. That's the place where the body shops buy their paint and supplies.
At that place, they brought out an instrument and placed it on about a half dozen different locations on my car.
They brought the instrument inside, hooked it up to a computer. the computer had a program that identified the color based on the readings from the instrument.
From that they blended a half pint of touch up paint for me.
I don't remember the cost, but whatever it was I must have felt it was worth it.
BTW, the particular color of my car matched a paint used on 70's something BMW.
 
I never noticed those hood louvers Ken.... I like them!

Good idea. I'll first try the body shop where my fender got touched up. it's just a tiny bit different - not quite as orange.

But the chips I've got show Honeysuckle as much lighter, more of an off-white really.

I forget who offhand, but I've seen a Saffron TR6 around here, and it actually looks better than you'd think. Not necessarily a color I'd choose myself, I tend to prefer cooler colors like blue and green, but still nice.

It could just be perception or memory tricks as it was many, many years ago that I saw that GT6 in Honeysuckle, but I recall it being more of a "tannish" like color. Different than its BL contemporary colors Harvest Gold (MG & Austin)/Green Sand (Jaguar), but about the same level of brown without any "greenish" tint. I would consider Bedouin (MG, another one year wonder color) more of an off white or very light tan relative to Honeysuckle, but then again we are talking about stuff from ~40 years ago so memory tricks are a distinct possibility.
 
Hi guys - for what ever it is worth those vintage colors seem to be coming back. Personally I like Sienna as a color, and not just entirely because Don has one in that color.
