I'm already started to tinker with my 79 MGB. I tightened the u-bolts which made the torque steer go away. I also had to add oil to the ZS carb. It's doing a lot better now. I bought Victoria British part numbers 0-990 and 1-7415 which is the boot and bulb holder for the front sidemarker lights (the ones on the car are corroded). I can't seem to figure out how to install them. Has anyone done this?

Erik - when I did this on my 76B I had to pull the wires through the hole and "patch" them onto the new bulb holders.

Aloha Eric,

I'm not sure about the more modern "B" type fitting, but they maybe similar to those on my TF. After all, Lucas tended to stick with the same thing for years. The bulb holders for my car have spring loaded bulb contact pins. If you push them into the bulb holder, a predrilled hole will appear to thread the wire into to complete the connection. The rubber weather shield often needs to be rolled back to do this. I usually use a wooden dowel move the pins back. Good luck with your light replacement.
