Michael - lets see some close ups of those very nice NICAL side curtains for your NICAL 100 hardtop He really did a nice job and also show the close ups of the details that you had to do to make them fit properly.

whatever you can share will be greatly appreciated. How long have you had these side curtains?

thank you very much:driving:

Jim--

Attached are two closeups--in and out--of the right side curtain. The brackets that came from NICAL were made from aluminum with pins that slipped into the two sockets. Because the metal flexed and the pins were a loose fit the side curtains were not very rigid and pulled away from the windshield at speed.

The bracket shown is temporary, made from thin steel for rigidity and I plan to go to stainless steel for the final version. I ran a 3/8" coarse thread tap into the sockets and the button head screw allows me to draw the side curtains very securely to the door.

All told, the curtains are a pretty good fit.

Michael - that is great - thank you for sharing. I think I saw these hardtops for the first time back when Conclave was at Winston Salem - a longtime ago. I actually have the price sheet for the 100/4, unpainted and fitted with the foam backed headlining for 1030 UK

Jim--

In addition to a couple of tops for later cars that he was delivering Freeman brought with him to Conclave W-S one 100 top which I bought. He and I spent the better part of a day mounting it (without the rear window) so I could drive the car. Installing the rear window was a difficult job in part because the shell is very thin and would distort under the pressure needed to work the rubber seal into place. I finally purchased a couple of the metal bars which essentially triangulated the rear window opening and stiffened the top sufficiently.

Michael,

I really like the look of you car and hardtop!

Thanks,
Duane

Duane--

Thanks. Since the heater works wonderfully and the hardtop and side curtains are very snug I am able to use the car all year long.
I have a local car club meeting tonight and I think I will drive the Healey.
