Side Exit 1960's Style Exhaust on my BJ8

Andrea,
Thanks for the pictures of the muffler - it looks pretty big - am curious if it is quiet with the side pipes. I'm looking for a replacement for my Monza which seems to be getting louder all the time.
 
I have acquired this kit from ahead4healeys.co.uk some time ago
It was Stainless Steel and kit include Silencer- Tail pipe and Side exit, all Big Bore
now it is sell in separate manner in the ex4400 series for BN4 BN7
change is very easy from tail to side- I have make one simple bracket with TWO holes, at the Silencer exit,
one for the Side and one for Tail

SIDE EXIT PIPE - BIG BORE - S.S. - EX4410
after just one short test I have dismantled the side exit( it appear no so noisy and louder, but test was very short,I haven't idea what are the brain condition after a 500 km trip) I must pass one examination, as MOT, before put the car on the road, and side exhaust are NOT admitted
externally silencer appear very similar to MOSS as Rich Berman S.S: exhaust photo

Does anyone have opinions on the angle the exit pipes clear the sill at? I see Andrea's looks like it comes out at right angles to the sill, others aim towards the rear at various degrees... Does it make much of a difference to the flow of exhaust fumes - thinking about deposits on the paint and wheels etc. I had a pipe exiting just behind the wheel for a time, and it fouled the white paint rear of the pipe.

Mine's at at about 60-deg, rather than 90-deg. I think it has more to do with how long the muffler is and where it's mounted. I have a stock (for a 100-6/early 3000) muffler. Mine also comes out from the sill about 3 - 4 cm and the ends are cut straight instead of at an angle. I've noticed no fouling.
