Thanks Lin... That much I remember from your communications after the last article I submitted for the HHR. Plus, Hendrix still has my car. I should get it back in the next couple of weeks, but then I may take it down to Atlanta in early June. I'm attending a conference and since I'm a native from down there (Macon), I've asked to travel by POV and take leave in conjunction w/travel so I can go see my family.
Not quite as far as your travels, but still a big trip (about 1700 miles round trip). It would also be neat for me as Atlanta is where I bought the car (you may also remember from my last HHR article) and it hasn't been back there since 1984!

My stock sidecurtians do not rattle. They have the rubber anti-rattle buffers on boths mounts and on the front top.
Just finished my hardtop and will run with it on this weekend's Snowball Rally.
Have you considered a round cutout with cover for paying tolls? The sliding windows work well for me. I would consider making the front slide rather than the back if I ever restore another set of curtians.

Hey Tracy,
I am not saying I have the perfect solution. The flap may turn out to be too small. I can hand a toll booth collector money through the curtain flap, but I certainly could not toss coins into an automated collection bin with the current design. All I can tell you is that with my hardtop in place I now have a much better fit around the top of the Lexan than I did with the top of the side curtain aluminum frame. Instead of a one-size-fits- all side curtain (and mine were brand new), I was able to custom fit each side to my top.
The rattle I was writing about was from the two pieces of plexiglass rubbing together - not from the frame. I have all new rubber buffers also.
We will see how they work on my trip. I reserve judgment on the merits of this little project until I see how they perform over time and in foul weather.
