Side Curtain Flange question

My side curtains (Moss approx 2001) have this 1/2" flange, which doesn't seem to be on the side curtains shown in the current Moss catalog.
Would like to know if this flange is not correct, and if so, to have a correct picture so I can trim the metal correctly.

Steve,
mine had a similar flange. I viewed it as "designed-in" excess material enabling one to trim (Dremel) to custom fit each car and top. My original side curtains had obviously been trimmed by someone. Factory, Dealership or owner who knows.

I also have seen many original flanges have been trimmed down. I did not trim the repro's we used on our restoration, that is until we finished the hardtop. Then they had to be trimmed to fit the opening, and a surprisingly good seal was achieved.

This may be an older thread but happened to come across it in my BCF travels so I'll chime in with my two cents. I have the flange on my 62 BT7. Sidescreens seem to fit fine with it, altho they do still tend to rattle a bit. Steve's teflon tape seems like a good idea.

Steve - poked thru your gallery. Lots of good stuff.

Cheers

Dave.
