I'm not sure that this really qualifies since I'm not activly restoring it anymore (actualy want to sell it) but here is the restoration that I had been working on for many years before I bought my current car a TR3A.

It's a '68 Jaguar E-Type 1 1/2 OTS:

I like the Jag. Where's the top?
Hi 2wrench, The tops in the garage, along with a brand new top to go on it. The rest of the car is in zip lock bags in boxes on shelves in the garage just waiting for someone with the time andresources to put them all back together!

Hey rlan,

She sure does look sweet!

The pic of the body shown in a room with the "French Doors"; Is that your Living / Family Room?

I ask cause I`ve never seen French Doors in a Garage.

The paint code looks really good.

Russ

Nope... it's my unfinished basement. It was kinda tight getting it in there with the columns, but I think it'll be easier getting it out.

And the paint has been buffed out, and looks even better now.

It's not a Triumph, but...

Each is progressing, but '49 TR is my favorite.

P.S. I had to put in the AH. My wife thinks it is cute
P.P.S. I need L&R F fenders for the TR3a

Are you working them in parallel (as I am)?

I can't seem to get the photos to link preoperly so I put a link to the three I uploaded into the my photos section. These were taken the day my car came home. One is the car still on the flat bed being delivered. One is just a side shot and the other was because my wife thought she should sit in the car and have some pictures taken. Gotta love the hub caps that previous ower siliconed onto the wheels. It is a project that could be small or very large.

Runs very well actually. The exhaust is bad and the brakes were shot (still need to do the rears) which is why it was brough home on a flat bed.

The car was hill billy "restored" about 6 years ago using things like interior house carpet for the floors and similiar for some other aspects. They also did some of the body work very well it appears but other sections were done badly and will likely be redone. The trans was rebuilt and I believe the engine may have been freshened up at that time.

The guy I bought it from didn't driver the car in aout 5 years of ownership. He had 5 other cars and it just sat in the garage behind an old Fiat.

Since I bought it I pulled some parts, lights, bumpers, other chrome bits and have been cleanign them and polishing them back up as best I can. The car actually looks pretty decent now and I was offered double what I paid for it last week so I must have done something right. Next up is do the rear brakes and get this thing stopping a little better hopefully then the exhaust needs to be replaced before spring so we can driver it.

Here's a shot of both Stags. Blue one needs an engine rebuild; green one needs a transmission rebuild.

Seriously considering pulling the transmission from the blue one to install in the green one; but I don't have room to work on them at the same time.

PS, the car cover is hiding the wrecked TR3A.

All kinds of neat projects being shown.

My TR3 is almost completed. Maybe a few weeks more.

The first pic is when I finally got all the body work done.
The second pic show some progress after the paint and with the engine and HVDA conversion along with the start of Dan Masters wiring job. Notice also the four piston Toyota calipers.

The last pic was take yesterday. All that left is the front wings and apron. I also have to get some bucks together for new wires and tires.

Edit: BTW, those are forty year old Pirelli Cinturatos on there. I brought them up from the basement to get the car off the jack stands, and they all still had between 10-15 psi of air in them. Must be those tubes!

...and one more thing. If you also noticed, the TR3 has aero screens. Years ago before the resto, I always used to drive around with just the aeros on. Well, after watching Alain DeCadenet on "Victory By Design", he always used to don those RAF goggles when driving a vintage car. Well, I just had to have a set of those. Moss sells them, but they are very expensive. You can get really cheap ones on the internet, but I wanted the originals. I wound up getting them from Aircraft Spruce for alot less then Moss. These are made by the same folks that made them for the RAF during WWII. :yesnod:

Edit: I actually bought two pair...one for me and one for the better half.

Yep
I think I've got ADD and it helps keep me moving, a though slowley. It doesn't hurt to have a brother who is a por mechanic to do all the engine work. We did this all through Hish School and it kept us out of trouble.

The Bugeye looks like she is really coming along.
I'm making some progress. Luckily the body is in good shape. Still lots to do... same story as everyone I think.
