MGA Should one aquire 2 MGA's

Looking forward to seeing photos - there may be a few odds & ends I could use...I know I need the metal cover that goes over the area behind the seats....& might could use a fender or 2...I'm still trying to build 1 MGA coupe!

Tony,
i dont recall seeing a good fender in the lot, and only one good bumber out of the four.

Those metal covers are hard to find....Took me about a year to locate a useable one.

Sigh, another disparaging remark about the TR7. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonono.gif There's nothing wrong with them . . . . . as long as they have a V-8 in engine bay! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I almost bought a TR7 last year- a US export model that had lived in a garage here since new, with 800 miles on it- the owner was going to take it back the US when he returned, but he never went....

But they wanted too, too much for it.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I'd also had the chance to buy a pair of MGAs about thirty years ago now... they were in such good ( /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif) condition that if I'd done so, I might, just might be finishing one by now.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Well i own them...here is a pic. going to work on getting them moved.

They both look like 1500's!

How's that grille? Side curtains? Seats? Parcel shelf?

See, I can think of lots of stuff to take off them!

me too Tony, i will put some better pics up when i get them home. the one in the front has a very nice bonnet that i have plans for. One grill is a little tweeked the other is almost mint. i believe they are both 1500's. she believes one is a 55 and one a 57-58?

Put a price on that grille...oh, one even has a luggage rack!

That grill is not perfect, it does have a dent or two in it. there are side curtians in one that i saw, they were the folding style and just the frames are all i saw, not sure of the condition. that luggage rack looked ok...rusty but ok.

here is another pic. The nice Lady said her Husband used to race the one with the roll bar, and that she would find me a picture she has and give me a copy. both cars have engine and trannys, and there is a third engine that was always stored indoors, makes me wonder about that engine abit.

Looks like you could even rebuild at least one of them.

Good find, u'll never lose on a deal like that.

You might actually be able to make a car out of those two. Especially with a good engine included!

They are 1500 cars based on the tail lamps. I can also see drum front brakes on one which also means 1500.

Ca-ching! Score!!

Ya done good! These look better than my current project MGA did when I bought it for $500!!! The very thin edge of a very thick wedge is a great metaphor, and certainly apropos to MGA restoration. As to the question of whether one can have too many MGAs? MOST EMPHATICALLY NO. The only limits are money and space.

Space? Heck, no, just add on!

Oh boy, oh boy. Bits to make preaty. Lots and lots of bits.

Congrats.

Well Folks, i think i did ok. However i have no plans to save either car. At the moment i believe they are to far gone to resurect, they are parts and funding material for my 59. i will give the good folks here first dibs on any parts i am going to sell before i ebay them. I had been feeling kind blu about the condition of the 59 , that is untill i saw these two cars. I am just hoping i can get them on and off a flatbed to get them home. The one that was hit by the tree will be the first under the knife. I am just glad my tetnus shot is up to date.

Sell a quick part on eBay. Turn round & spend it on plenty o sawzall blades that you'll probably be able to find on eBay.
Been funding my own projects for months now.
