Should I make a sacrifice to the Triumph gods now?

I fitted this little gem today for the first time. Didn't get too far - it's cold out there, but thought I'd better consult some collective wisdom as to what the offering to the Tr gods should be so it'll run again. Goats? Chickens? Castrol 20W50?

Looks very good, "Purposeful" comes to mind. What kind of pressure are you making at the rails?
Kodanja "yer 1st born, or lotz o virgins...", too much time invested in the first and hard to find the second.
Do the mental double check and have at her. Nice job.

The type and amount of sacrificial offerings always depend on how much of your own blood you shed while working on your car. This is clearly stated in the unwritten TR Owners Manual on Page 32 under the subheading, "required sacrificial offerings"! You also get extended operation for strains and sprains. Now if you actually break something you are good to go for many many miles!

I can't begin to remember who said it, but this comes to mind;
"Come on son. Lets crank her up and see what she'll do."

The picture looks great! Too bad this art form is lost on women.

Re: Should I make a sacrifice to the Triumph gods

That engine looks might fine Alan. Best Wishes!

I hope it runs well and you get to enjoy
your TR6. You and I both seem to have
troublesome beasts to deal with, that's
for sure. I'm guessing you paid a king's
ransome for that fine machine.

Particularly when one considers the Crypt Car's
engine and the almost $8,000. I have spent to
date trying to make it start up and run.

I think you engine looks a whole lot more professional
than mine does. Your looks more reliable as well.

Dale. A Triumph MG???

Re: Should I make a sacrifice to the Triumph gods

Yeah Doc, I already figured out my 1969 TR6 really
has a TR250 engine in it. You were really smart to spot
that!! It took me three motnths to figure it out. LOL

Re: Should I make a sacrifice to the Triumph gods

Um, Dale, that's not really a picture of your TR6's engine compartment, is it?

Whoops... looks like some other folks already jumped on it. I thot for a moment there we had found the source of some of your problems.

Re: Should I make a sacrifice to the Triumph gods

No Dale that pic looks Like some kind of a cross flow TR 4 Engine. The battery area looks like a MG to me.

Re: Should I make a sacrifice to the Triumph gods

HooBoi... I gotta thing....I gotta go....

Re: Should I make a sacrifice to the Triumph gods

You telling me the Crypt Car is actually an MG??
No wonder I'm having so many problems fitting parts on.

That DPO swore to me it was a
"almost 100% restored 1969 TR6"

D just for fun!

Re: Should I make a sacrifice to the Triumph gods

Looks like a motorcycle intake. But seriously, I'm intersted in your FI project and turbo for the TR too. Looks good so far.

It's because of the font - I couldn't find a logo for TR cars. It was hard enough to get that lasered on (the curvature of the plenum makes it difficult to focus the beam), without trying to have the individual letters scanned and tidied up from someone's car.

Even though it's not 'correct' I still kind of like it. At the very least I'm happy it doesn't say "Ford" or "Honda"...

Re: Should I make a sacrifice to the Triumph gods

Ayup.

...I'm headed fer th' "Garage Beer Unit" 'cause of it now meself... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thirsty.gif ...architects....*sheesh*

And Alan: That intake is brill! I recall seein' it sittin' on a TABLE not long ago. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif
