MGB Should I lubricate the cog gears

I am reassembling the dash of my '66B. At this point I am installing the temperature control and air flow controls. The cog gears which are driven by the turning of the knobs are not now lubricated and don't appear to have been. Should I leave them bare, or grease/lubricate them in some way?
Thanks,
Charlie

Charlie,
I don’t know if the 66 and 70 are the same, but I removed mine and cleaned them, lubricated the rotating point with oil and used white lithium grease on the ā€˜gears’. It’s been a couple of years and the controls work really well and much smoother than they did originally.

Thanks Rut! I have used white lithium grease in the past for other lube jobs so I am familiar with it. That's what I'll do for the cog gears.
