Sigh....memories, fading through the mirrors of my mind....

Been there several times as a kid. I prefer Maine, but hey - whatever floats your boat

That's because you live in an area similar to there already. If I lived in Fiji I would vacation in Hawaii either.

I dunno. I'm a 12-year transplant from further north. The year I moved here we had 36" of snow in the front driveway.

I guess I'm just not much of a beach person

Well, you didn't get "upcountry".. kinda like being in Montana, but about 30 degrees nicer. And watching sunrise on HaleAkala is magnificent.

If you really want snow head over to the big island in winter. They do have snow up by the observatory...

And wild deer and turkey roam on Lanai, which is also kinda like being back in Connecticut at the end of summer.

And I do NOT think you're going to find anywhere near the number of bikinis worn in Maine as you will find on the beaches here in Hawaii..

Aloha.

Been there Ron, no need to defend it  If you guys think I'm dumping on Hawaii, I'm not - I was just kidding around.

See ya.

Scott, sorry I know you already live in a paradise

Been there a whole bunch of times, starting with a stint being home-ported in Pearl Harbor. Great place to visit, but not a place I would want to live.

mmm... I live where I do because there's no bridge to where Ron is so I could transport a few Lotus and Alfa cars there.
