Short or long STEERING levers on TR4a

Hi Guys, been bruising my knuckles tearing down a 66/67 TR4a. Body is off the frame and frame is completely bare. It is on its way to a frame shop soon. In the mean time, I am restoring all of the underbody parts to shiny new.

When I bought Frankenstein (my car is a mish mash of numerous Triumphs bits and is BRG), it came with a few extra parts. I have 3 extra front suspension assemblies of mysterious origin. What I do know is that they are for a 4 and not a 4a. But I see in the Moss catalog that the 4a has short steering lever. My car currently has a long steering lever.

which one should go one a 4a?

I think the longer version may be off a TR6.
 
The one that you see installed on the suspension assembly is the one that came one the car. The shorter one came off of the 4 suspension that was in the trunk when I got the car. BTW if anyone needs upper wishbone arms or an upper fulcrum pin, LMK. I seem to have 3 extra sets. I have sandblasted them clean and painted them gloss black, so they are ready to install.
 
Sorry, I used the wrong terminology, what I am asking about are the steering arms. But you probably figured out that I had the wrong name :smile:
 
Not an independent opinion - but here's some more info. Looks like we may be both right - the longer one does go on a TR6 according to RevingtonTR, Moss Europe, and the Roadster Factory. But according to them it also goes on the TR4A-TR250 models. Part numbers 307211, 307212 for both sides. The shorter one is either for a TR4, or a TR3, there were some variations of the shorter ones out there so hard to tell. But in your case - use the longer ones.
 
Thanks. That's what I needed to know. This car is such a basket case that I never trust that what is on the car actually belongs on the car. It had one PBb brake on one side and a PBc on the other. The fenders and grille are for a 4, the seats from a 6 and the steering wheel from a 250. I'm just never sure.
