On older (1950s era) AH, MG, Morris, etc., seems the only hope for a driver with short legs to bring pedals closer to feet, is to move the seat forward.

If moving the seat forward isn't enough, has anyone put "blocks" on clutch, brake, and throttle pedals to bring them closer to the driver?

Searching the individual marque forums here so far has brought no success.

JP, that is quite unique! Is that manufactured by a handicapped car conversion company? Great idea with heal support and all! (y) I had an Aunt that could have used something like that. She always had the seat as far forward as it would go and a couple of pillows behind her when driving. She was only 4' 9" tall. Plus they always bought big Buicks! Loved her, she was quite a lady! 🥰 She always bought me presents. 🤣

Not off hand Tom, I don't know if a pair of long pedal extensions would work properly. Of course, you now have the gas pedal to contend with.
 
On JPs post, I only see two pedals, I would assume the setup is for a car with automatic. With a setup for Clutch, Brake and throttle, it would be a bit more complicated. If converted and bolted in place, it would limit the car to people in the same situation.
 
Paul - as JP started his post with a "big grin" smiley, and there's no link to a site that sells the device, I think JP is joking again. The same picture shows up on many social media sites as "humor", but not on any vendor sites.

However ... there are other designs which may work for the MG.


You'd have to ditch the brake pedal, and get two more narrow extenders for the brake and clutch. Not sure they'd fit on the narrow pedal unit of the TD. But depending on how they attach to the original pedals, it *may* work.

This is for the new owner of my '53 TD.
 
A long shot and long ago as well, but I once sold a new 928 to a man who needed extensions on the pedals, Porsche (at that time anyway) had them available.
 
The big Healey's brake and clutch pedals bolt onto the lever arms, so it's pretty straight forward to add extensions to those. The 6 cylinder Austin-Healeys have a bent rod throttle pedal/arm. So it wouldn't be to hard to extend that either with some welding. The BN1/BN2 gas pedal attaches/pivots to the floor, so might be more complicated.

Sometimes it gets a bit frustrating when jokes overtake help.

Those are for clutch and brake. Looks like they're not a big problem to fabricate, at whatever length is needed:

Throttle might be more of a challenge.

Remember, I'm the FRUGAL ZEALOT. Think I'll also suggest the new owner just add 1" rubber padding on the soles of a pair of shoes.
