TR4/4A Shop with lift ideas

I'm sure at some point you'll get into looking at code and taxes. I've been told that where I live putting a toilet in a garage moves it from the realm of garage to living space with a commensurate affect on property taxes.
Geo,
The shop that burned had a 1/2 bath and kitchen and was not connected to the house which was against the HOA covenants (it was called a pool house). Property taxes in AL are reasonable and the should be no change with the new shop. The biggest issue is dealing with my insurance company who is wanting to pay pennies on the dollar and playing the legalize game. I'm talking to an attorney today who specializes in dealing with insurance companies in this specific field and will move on from there. Wish me luck!

it's a shame you have to resort to this. But that's the new reality.
The insurance companies seem to lowball all claims, in all things, unless you get strong-arm help.

i guess it will save a lot of hassle, if we just have attorneys file the claim in the first place.
