We're going to be moving from Portland to the Ft. Worth area and I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good shop. Also, does anyone know of a good independent Land Rover shop in the area? Thanx.

The best place in Foat Wuth is British Auto Specialists, 2216 Solana, 817-589-7974.
Jeff Sloan is the owner and seems to be a good guy.
No affiliation, no vested interest, etc they're a good vendor for TR's Jags and Range Rovers.
Take care Bob

Second that recommendation. Jeff has been in business roughly 30 years there, before it was British Auto Specialists it was called TR Sales and Service. And it had a great junkyard area that I spent many an hour in!

Junk yard area? I like the sound of that! Are either of you guys in the Red River Triumph club?

I was about 20 years ago.. the last time I wandered through the junk yard area! - unfortunately I think that area is just a memory now but you never know.

I've had good results using Ed Barnard at Eclectic Auto. He rebuilt my TR-6 engine about 2 years ago. 817-939-4419 He's located in Arlington.

Also, check out the local VTR club, Red River Triumphs, a very active club with a lot of helpful folks.

If you're here by late April, check out the Regionals event in New Braunfels:

I fourth Jeff @ British Auto Specialists. Bought our 3A from him about 12 years ago. He's a great guy, and runs a good shop.

Thanx for all the suggestions. We'll be arriving in late June. I'm in the process of arranging shipping for my cars right now. Yee-haw. DNK, I'm work for SWA.

The wrecking yard was a victim of downsizing about 10 years back.
I'm not currently a member or the TR club, but they're a nice bunch, and of course, kindred spirits. It's always nice to be able to wrap a lot of brains around the issues we sometimes have with these cars.
Good luck on your move...Bob

Great to hear that Jeff and British Auto Specialists are still going. I bought my TR3A through him nearly 20 years ago. 15 years ago I visited the States for three months and Jeff looked after me, found an Oldsmobile for me, lent me a car to take my Texas driving test in and finally sold my Oldsmobile for me when I returned home. He is a great guy and I can thoroughly recommend him to look after your British cars.
The wreckers yard was an amazing place, particularly for someone from Scotland to see hundreds of rust-free LBCs in various states of disrepair.

World-wide recommendations!!

If you see him, say hello from me and the police car!
