Shock failure

Just discovered that one of the brand new shocks on my BJ7 has failed. It appears that over pressurization has blown a hole in the casing of the left hand rear shock. I've nearly completed the restoration, just the convertible top remains to be installed, and have been driving the car around the area on 30-40 mile trips to see how things are working. Nothing major so far, except the shock issue. I've got less than 100 miles on the car so far. Has anyone else had problems with these replacement shocks?

FYI, I pulled out the old shock that came off the car, and it too had a hole in the same place!
