from experience, the sizes 175/70-14, 185/65-14 and 195/60-15 are all close enough to the original size that there is not enough difference to throw your speedo out 'noticeably' in normal traffic. Speedo indications will be very close to what you think you're doing in most driving situations (they were for me). For example, if I was doing 10 over the limit I would expect to pass most people (but not all), and that was what I experienced with all three sizes.
Of the 3 sizes, I believe I liked 185/65-14 the most, because it set the car the closest to the ground. 195/60-15 is second with its huge amount of grip. 175/70-14 tires were just too 'wobbly' for me. I believe my next set of tires will be 185/65-15, but that's a few years down the road still. Those 195/60s are new and at an average of 8K miles/year they should last me at least 4 years. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
